My latest journalistic piece came out in The Shoestring last month. The piece explores the conflict between the need to produce green energy in Massachusetts, and the pressure of solar development on lands we’d prefer to conserve, like forests and farmlands. What happens when large-scale, for-profit solar threatens green space? Are the local citizens challenging these developments just privileged “NIMBY’s”? Most importantly, are there ways to prevent conversion of forestland into solar energy infrastructure – especially if we also want to meet the state’s green energy goals in time to fight the ravages of climate change that also threaten our forests?

The Shoestring is an excellent area nonprofit news outfit that punches well above its weight. Happy to have this article in their stable and to have the chance to talk about the topic on local and public radio.
